FACT CHECK: PH did not suspend  military agreements with the U.S
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

FALSE. A YouTube video claims that the Philippines has suspended its military base agreements with the United States.

FACT. There is no official record, government announcement, or credible news report confirming this claim. Both the Department of National Defense (DND) and the Philippine government have reaffirmed that all military agreements with the U.S. remain active.

The video, titled “Philippines Reverses Alliance! The Betrayal that Terrifies Washington,” uses AI-generated visuals and text to falsely claim that the Philippines betrayed the U.S. and received massive aid from China.

It exaggerates geopolitical developments,  misleading viewers and casts doubt on the country’s national security strategy.

The Philippines continues to strengthen cooperation with the United States and other like-minded partners on defense and regional security matters. The Department of National Defense advises the public to verify sources and avoid sharing unverified or inflammatory content online.
