FACT CHECK: No evidence VP Sara Duterte “jailed” or “destroyed” vlogger Lovely Granada
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

FALSE. A viral post claims vlogger Lovely Granada was challenged to a debate by Vice President Sara Duterte and was supposedly “finished off” or even jailed after the incident.

FACT. While Granada did publicly issue a debate challenge in March 2026 on governance and drug war issues, there is no evidence that the Vice President accepted, responded, or engaged in any debate. There is also no record of any confrontation or legal action against her.

A post from “Showbiz Gossip Mill” circulated claims that Granada was publicly ridiculed or “finished off” by Duterte after the challenge. The narrative is framed in sensational terms but is not supported by credible reporting or official records.

Granada’s debate challenge spread widely on social media and YouTube channels, but it did not result in any formal exchange or verified response from Sara Duterte.

No reputable news outlet reported any “takedown,” punishment, or public humiliation event.

Some online discussions referenced Granada’s mention of General Santos City’s historical administrative context, which she later clarified.

However, claims that this amounted to a “major blunder” or triggered a public humiliation campaign are unverified and not supported by credible sources.
