FACT CHECK: No evidence Vince Dizon is inserting his own company into DPWH projects
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

FALSE. A social media claim alleges that Vince Dizon’s own contractor or company will be inserted to complete Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) projects, and that his site visits and promises to fix infrastructure works are meant to benefit his own firm.

FACT. There is no evidence that Vince Dizon owns a construction company or is steering DPWH contracts to himself. No major news outlet has reported such a conflict of interest.

The issue stems from allegations, not confirmed findings. Batangas Rep. Leandro Leviste publicly raised concerns that some members of Dizon’s team might be contractors or linked to contractors and called for transparency regarding potential conflicts of interest. Dizon has denied that his appointees are contractors and said he welcomes scrutiny.

Since his appointment as DPWH secretary, Dizon has announced anti-corruption measures, including ordering internal probes into contractor links, stating he would remove or file charges against officials found to have conflicts of interest, and terminating or blacklisting contractors and DPWH personnel tied to ghost or substandard flood control projects as part of reform efforts.

Dizon was appointed DPWH secretary in September 2025 to oversee reforms and address corruption issues in infrastructure projects. His publicly reported actions have focused on reviewing contracts and contractor relationships. There is no verified report showing that he owns or is inserting his own company into DPWH projects.
