FACT CHECK: Marcos did not rank first in a presidential preference survey with a 77.7% approval rate
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

FALSE. President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. topped a 2028 presidential preference survey.

FACT. The survey is inaccurate and Marcos is not allowed to run for the 2028 presidency.

A survey result posted by NARDZ TV51 on Facebook claims Marcos ranked first with a 77.75% approval rate for the 2028 presidential preference survey by Bagong Pilipinas Chronicle.

They also claimed Vice President Sara Duterte followed him with a 22.3% score.

However, Article VII, Section 4 of the 1987 Philippine Constitution limits the president to a single six-year term with no attempt of reelection.

Marcos, elected and inaugurated in 2022, will therefore complete his term in 2028 without eligibility to run again.

This rule has been consistently upheld, barring incumbents like him from the May 2028 elections.

The survey is also inaccurate as its results do not hold any proof to support it.

Survey details such as the methodology, sample size, and survey details are not provided by the post.

Moreover, there are no  reports from credible news outlets such as ABS-CBN and GMA News.

Should there be an official presidential survey results, media outlets would have covered it due to its urgency and relevance.

Bagong Pilipinas Chronicles, the cited source for the survey, is a Facebook page with 249,000 followers dedicated to posting contents that features Marcos and his activities.

It has had several posts in the past, asking the public for their presidential preference through Facebook reactions feature.

This survey methodology does not hold any credibility as the data gathered lack valid grounds.
