American media personality Kim Kardashian is NOT flying to the Philippines to personally represent Vice President Sara Duterte in her Senate impeachment trial.
The claim circulating is completely fabricated. Kardashian has not made any announcements nor has a license to practice law. While Kardashian completed a four-year legal apprenticeship in California in 2021, she has not passed the U.S. bar exam required to practice law in the United States or internationally.
Instead, VP Sara’s defense team is composed entirely of Filipino legal practitioners, led by Atty. Sheila Sison alongside others, such as Atty. Michael Poa and Atty. Carlo Narvasa.
Under Section 1 of Rule 138 of the Rules of Court of the Philippines, the practice of law is restricted to citizens and residents of the Philippines who are duly admitted members of the Philippine Bar.
The misleading post published on July 7, 2026 featured a real photo of Kardashian from a June 2019 White House visit regarding criminal justice reform.
However, the photo was paired with a fabricated quote, where she allegedly stated she was ready for her “biggest legal challenge yet” in Manila, thanking her as “Atty. Kim.”
The fake post emerged exactly one day after the Senate impeachment proceedings against VP Sara officially began on July 6, 2026. Disinformation actors frequently use highly publicized political events to spread engagement-baiting content.
