FALSE. A viral YouTube video claimed that Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan was suspended and removed from the Senate following a confrontation with Senator Robin Padilla.
FACT. Pangilinan remains an active senator in the 20th Congress. There is no official Senate record, resolution, or announcement confirming any suspension or expulsion against him.
A YouTube video published by “PINAS BALITA TV” falsely alleged that Pangilinan was “forced out” of the Senate after a heated exchange with Padilla during discussions involving Senator Bato dela Rosa’s ICC-related warrant.
The claim circulated widely online despite the absence of any official confirmation from the Senate.
The incident being referenced occurred during a May 12 plenary session, where Pangilinan raised a point of order while Senator Robin Padilla attempted to interject. The exchange became tense, prompting the Presiding Officer to suspend the session briefly to restore order.
Although the confrontation drew attention, no physical altercation occurred, and no disciplinary action such as suspension was issued against Pangilinan.
Senator continues to serve in the 20th Congress.
