FACT CHECK: President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is not a clone as social media personality claims
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

FALSE. President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is dead and a clone is impersonating him

FACT. The president is alive and it is impossible to clone a human

The claim, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. is actually dead while a clone is impersonating him is false.

The post originates from a social media personality, Illoy Bugris: The Queen of Revelations on Facebook, known for sensationalist content, rather than a reputable news source or medical authority.

There are no official reports, hospital records, or testimonies from family or staff to support the claim that the president is deceased.

This post offers only a rhetorical question and an emotional photo, which does not constitute proof.

The Philippine presidency is not just one person, but an office surrounded by many people. This includes family, advisers, security personnel, government officials, leaders.

For a “clone” to fool President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, their family, Cabinet members, and diplomats, all of them would have to stay silent. Such perfect coordination among so many and high-profile people is highly unrealistic.

There is also no death certificate or medical record showing Marcos has died, making the theory baseless.

From a scientific perspective, creating a fully grown adult clone as a “replacement” is currently impossible.

Modern biotechnology cannot create an adult human “duplicate” with the same memories, scars, and personality traits overnight.

While basic cloning has been done in animals, there is no technology that can make a clone quickly age to look like a 66-year-old person or carry that person’s memories.

It would also require a huge discrete scientific operation that would be nearly impossible to hide in today’s connected world.
