FALSE. The Supreme Court of the Philippines has ordered the detention of Ramil Madriaga, described online as Vice President Sara Duterte’s former “bagman.”
FACT. No such order exists. There is no directive from the Supreme Court of the Philippines mandating Madriaga’s detention.
A viral YouTube video by PINAS BALITA TV claims that the Court issued a strong order sending Madriaga to jail, presenting it as a recent legal development despite lacking any verified source or official confirmation.
The content uses dramatic language and a “breaking news” tone to suggest a high-level court action. However, it provides no credible evidence and falsely attributes Madriaga’s detention to the Supreme Court.
Ramil Madriaga has been in custody since 2023 due to a pending kidnapping-for-ransom case before a Regional Trial Court, not because of any Supreme Court ruling.
He remains detained under orders of a lower court and is under the custody of jail authorities, independent of any action from the Supreme Court of the Philippines.
