FALSE. Bicol Saro Party-list Terry Ridonwants to hold Supreme Court officials accountable because he does not side with their decision on VP Sara Duterte’s impeachment.
FACT. Ridon did not make the fabricated statement endorsing that Supreme Court officials could be subject for impeachment proceedings.
The caption of the Facebook post made-up the quote saying, “Pero ang totoo naman po, marami pang ibang paraan para matiyak ang pananagutan ng hudikatura. Members of the Supreme Court can be subject to impeachment proceedings,” attributed to the lawmaker.
However, the page behind it, Scoop Update PH failed to provide a legislative filing number or formal proposal by Ridon. The claim hints at a major political case but lacks a foundational explanation of the underlying legal procedures.
Vague phrases were also used, such as “may ilang diumano paraan,” instead of confirming the decision. It frames opinion as if it were a concrete legal move, which can mislead audiences about what has actually happened.
There are also signs of informalities within the Facebook post and the image used themselves. The post mixes Tagalog paraphrases with a short English quote that lacks a clear source or transcript reference. A collage format, with Ridon’s selfie and a courtroom image are not enough to prove that it actually took place there. Without input from the judiciary or legal experts, the report lacks the balance expected of reliable media.
