Days after the fatal shooting at San Jose National High School in Tacloban City, investigators have uncovered new details about the incident. Here’s what authorities have found so far.

Authorities traced the 9mm Glock 17 pistol carried by the 14-year-old suspect, alias “Nash,” to his aunt, a policewoman. She has been placed under “restrictive custody” and relieved from her post while authorities investigate how the firearm ended up in the teenager’s possession.

Meanwhile, investigators also found a .38-caliber revolver carried by the second suspect, a 15-year-old identified as “Rod,” that only fired one shot. It was traced that the revolver’s serial number to another firearm in Bohol and are continuing to investigate its origin.

They are also looking into the suspects’ digital activities, where the police said alias “Nash” regularly played GoreBox, an 18+ sandbox video game centered on gun violence and destruction.

Following the discovery, the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center ordered a temporary block on access to the game in the Philippines while authorities study whether it had any connection to the incident.

Investigators also recovered Facebook posts allegedly uploaded before the shooting. According to police, the content included footage showing one suspect handling firearms.

Taken together, the evidence points to how two juveniles gained access to firearms, whether warning signs on social media were overlooked, and what role, if any, digital content played in shaping their behavior.

The investigation remains ongoing. Despite several findings have emerged, investigators have yet to establish a definitive motive, though bullying remains one of the possible angles under probe.
