FALSE. A Facebook post claims that Ilocos Norte 1st District Rep. Sandro Marcos said, “Kung ibigay niyo sa akin ang pwesto ng aking ama sa 2028 handang handa ako,” implying he is prepared to succeed President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. in the 2028 presidential elections.
FACT. As of July 2026, there is no official statement, speech, interview, verified social media post, or credible news report showing that Sandro Marcos made the alleged remark.
The claim originated from a Facebook post by a user identified as Rodolfo Viquiera. However, the post provides no supporting evidence, such as a video, transcript, official statement, or news report, to verify the quote.
The same fabricated quote has circulated online before. In March 2025, Sandro Marcos personally denied a similar false claim through an Instagram Story after a post alleged that he was planning to run for president in 2028.
He wrote, “Ingat po tayo sa misinformation campaign in the last few days,” warning the public against the spread of fake information. The viral claim resurfacing in 2026 follows the same pattern of misinformation and remains unsupported by any official statement or credible report.
The graphic used in the viral post also shows signs of manipulation, as it still contains the placeholder text “Tap to edit text,” indicating that it was created or altered using a graphic editing template before being shared as if it were authentic.
The false claim has also been repeatedly shared in the pro-Sara Duterte Facebook group “The Best Ka Inday Sara” by the same user despite the absence of any evidence supporting the alleged statement.
There is no verified evidence that Sandro Marcos said he is ready to take his father’s position in 2028. The quote has been circulating since 2025, was previously denied by Sandro Marcos himself, and continues to resurface without factual basis.
