FAKE NEWS: Vice President Sara Duterte says “Bakit pa kailangan mag-trabaho kung may presidente naman?”

FALSE. A Facebook post by the page Unofficial PBBM News is circulating, with images and a quote of Vice President Sara Duterte saying “Bakit pa kailangan mag-trabaho kung may presidente naman?”

Duterte took multiple vacations with “die-hard Duterte supporters” (DDS) vloggers using a newly released iPhone 17 pro max unit.

FACT. There is no credible source that could verify the legitimacy of Duterte’s remark.

She did not utter such words that implies that she depends on President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. Despite the image used being legitimate, the quote attached to the post, attributed to Duterte was made-up.

The Office of the Vice President has its own approved and allocated  funds from the Congress, so Duterte is expected to fulfill her duties accordingly.

This account appears to be a parody using fake polling data to mock the political system, not a real movement urging people to quit their jobs. Despite having more than 200,000 Facebook followers, the page does not release reports that pass ethical standards of responsible journalism.
